Happy New Year!! I haven't been "around" much as I've been trying to get my digital stash organized! Is that possible? I guess NOT in this house. After spending WAY too much time trying to organize it, I've decided to live with it the way it is.

I have a few things to share with you today. I've been scrapping a lot--even over the Holidays!

Miss Mis released a great kit today. It's called Out All Night and is just adorable! Of course, it's meant to scrap photos of exciting New Year's parties and evenings out!! If you are like me, though, we spent a quiet evening at home, so this is the layout I came up with!

Isn't it fun? It just goes to show you that you don't need fancy photos and nights out to make a fun layout!

Another designer I CT for also released a kit today. It's called Frosty, and made by Mandy King. It is just wonderful!

I created two layouts using this great kit--

Besides the great kit from Mandy King, for the Red Nose layout, I also used a fun cluster template from Algena, found at Scrappity Doo Dah!

Christmas day is only 2 days away!! I've created a lot of layouts this past month, but haven't had any time to update the blog. I've been trying to find time to enjoy this precious season. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Here are just a few of my layouts for December!!

I love the look of anticipation in my granddaughters eyes as she awaited Santa's visit back in 1999! She was SO excited, and her eyes just sparkled as she gazed into the sky looking for that jolly fat man and his trusty reindeer with her grandpa!!

Boy, have I got a lot to share today! I've been busy despite some internet problems! Have I told you lately how much I hate Internet problems?? Well, I do!
I have some fun news to share--I'm now on a new Creative team at a store that just opened for business on November 4th. In preparation for the opening, the creative team was asked to do some layouts to fill the new gallery! Well, I helped out a bit! I want to share some of them with you now. The first layout is of Ashlyn and Emily! They are such sweet hearts! I used a kit from Created by Jill called Sand in my Toes! It's a great kit for someone that has grandchildren that visit the beach often. (hehe) I also used a CU template from Jen C Designs November Template Grab Bag. (I love Jen's templates!!)

I'm not normally a white space scrapper, but every once in awhile, I try it! I love how this one came out. The photos are of Hope a few years ago. Look how sweet she is!! Isn't she just adorable? I used Imagine by Cinnamon Scraps
and Border it Volume 1 by Three Sweet Chicks Designs.

In this layout, I put Micah and his girly cousins in a PINK layout! I'm sure he'll love it when he sees it (laugh here!) Well, I know he loves his cousins anyhow!! I used a sweet kit called So Girl by Craft-Tastrophic Designs. I loved the cute hearts in this kit!!

Most sites have the designers make up a collab kit each month. The kit I used here, was a collab for the grand opening! It is very versatile, and has such cute cute elements! You'd love it I'm sure!! It's called With Love Collab by the amazing designers at With Love Studio. I also used a great template from the Play Park Templates kit by Fran B Designs

I love this kit called Boho Chic by Double Dutch Designs! I love my grandsons, and don't live by them, so this kit was just perfect for me to tell them how much I love them!! The kit has a happy feel to it--and I'm always happy with I think about these sweet munchkins! I also used a CU template from Colies Corner

This kit, Playing for Keeps by Designs by Angel was the perfect kit for this wedding photo of my daughter and her husband! They looked so good together didn't they? I also used a fun template from Fran B Designs kit called Play Park Templates. I love the scalloped border on this template! It really added that touch I was looking for in this layout.

Bug In Love by Craft-Tastrophic Designs was a fun kit with all the little lady bugs and hearts!! When I think of Abby, and her love for nature and her sweet ways, I also think of lady bugs for some reason! She loves ladybugs--maybe that is the reason! I had these photos from a few years ago, with her little mischievous jelly smile, and wanted to scrap them with this cute kit!! I also used a great template from Journal It Volume 1] by Three Sweet Chicks

For this cute photo of Jacob in the snow, I used the beautiful With Love Grand Opening Collab by With Love Studio Designers again! (Did I already say I love that kit?) Besides the collab, I also used another great template from the Journal It Volume 1 pack by Three Sweet Chicks

Recently, Hope played the piano for grandpa and I! It was fun to realize that the love of music is being passed down to another generation. I love that! Of course, while we were there, Drew had to play for us too!! Hannah is teaching Hope. When Hope was born, we all knew those glorious long fingers would someday make wonderful music!! I used a kit called Xavier Rocks by Designs by Angel and another template from Three Sweet Chicks template kit.

I remember when Hope was born. She was so tiny, and I still love making layouts from that precious time!! All the other babies in our family were pretty big, so this was a little different for all of us! She was so pink and cute!! I used the kit Imagine by Cinnamon Scraps and another template from Fran B Designs kit Play Park template to help me remember that sweet time.
I have other layouts I've done since the store opened, but I think I'll save them for another post! Good morning! I have several layouts and kits to share with you today! I better get started!
I don't know if you knew or not, but Luv Ewe Designs recently opened her store at Gingerscraps! She's back at designing, and came up with a cute kit for you this week called Now Showing. It's really a sweet kit, and I'm so happy to see her back in the designing world! Here is a preview of her cute kit:

When we were in the mountains of Colorado recently, my family had a family reunion. It was loads of fun, and I loved seeing my girls together!! They all haven't been together in many years. They all picked up from when they left off several years ago though, and enjoyed each other's company!! Debbie has always been the trickster--and this meeting showed that she hasn't changed much over the years. When she was small, we played a game called Can't Stop--and she never could. Dad and I took the game with us--just for old time sake, and just like when she was small, she still couldn't stop!! This time she gave her oldest daughter Ashlyn instructions on how to play the game!! The chip didn't fall too far from the old block!! Neither one of them could stop!! I made this layout of Debbie and her "Can't Stop face!"

Another kit I want to share with you today is from Jen C designs! She is such a great designer, and I always love the kits she releases. I feel so privileged to be a part of her CT!! Isn't Abby adorable up on that horse? She really loves the horses!! She's hoping to continue her lessons again next summer!!

Aren't my grandsons so cute too? Amy has a hard time getting all three of them looking good in the same photo. Noah even donned a paper bag, but being their grandma, I think they are adorable no matter which one is acting silly!!

In my haste on Friday, I didn't mention another kit that was released. It is a kit by Miss Mis called Detected. I had fun with this kit! We recently visited Colorado with 18 family members!! Eight of these members were home-schooled children (my grandchildren!). We were at a lodge like home in the Rocky mountains near a city called Breckenridge. Even though we were all on vacation, it wasn't a vacation from school! All the school-aged children still received their lessons every day. They all sought out a place in this huge home to do their individual work. I was so proud of all of them being so diligent with their studies, and with their parents for supplying a good education. We sneaked in a few walks to study the plant life in the area, and snapped some photos of course. One of the children wrote a report and included some of the photos!!
Anyhow, here is the cute kit found at Scrapable.

We had a great time in the mountains--and hopefully, we'll be able to plan another adventure sometime soon! It's hard to get 5 families together (we had 4 of them this time!) We live in 3 different states, from California to Kansas!! The cousins really enjoyed the adventure though, so it was well worth the sacrifice!!

This new kit from Sugar Pie Scraps is good for ANY scrapper! It's a kit called This is Why I Scrap!

You can find that sweet kit here. It was fun getting my journaling put together for this one! Afterall, I spend a lot of time scrapping, but saying WHY I do it was a challenge. Here is the layout I did with this kit and a template from BellaGypsy.

Jen C Designs also released a really cute kit today. It's called Look Woos Having a Birthday and can be found here. This is what it looks like: Isn't it just darling? Take a look at the cute owls!! I love the banner too!

I made this layout with Jen's cute kit! We recently visited Breckenridge, which is in the mountains outside of Denver Colorado. Three of my four grown children, and 10 of our 14 grandchildren were able to get together there! We had such a good time together--and it was the first time this many of the grandchildren were together at the same time. We came from three states--California, Kansas, and Colorado! Since the kids married and moved from our state, it's been very difficult to find time when everybody could meet someplace! I'm thankful for this time together, and hope next time, that all four of the kids and by then we'll have 15 grandchildren, so I also hope all of them can meet together and share in the fun!! While we were there, since nobody is around anybody else for birthdays, we had an UNBIRTHDAY for everybody! We had cake and ice cream, and of course presents! We had such fun! Here is the layout I made so I can remember all of those fun moments together.

Oh, I also used one of Jen's Blended templates that you can find here. If you haven't tried any blended templates, I suggest you do because they are lots of fun!

I had the opportunity this week to do a layout for a designer I originally worked with when I was a site CT for DigitalScrapCafe. Her name is Elker W. Designs, and she does some terrific work. Her kits were so much fun to create with because the quality of her things was so high. I answered a One Kit Call this week, and worked with her new release Sassy Sisters. Miss Mis has been a busy little designer! Besides her collab with Modern June that I wrote about last, she also released a great collab with Lacy Bittner called Savvy Saver this past week!

When I saw the kit, my mind went back to when I was a child, and I remember my mother's obsession with saving stamps. I decided to document that adventure with my layout. It was fun remembering all the time she spent trying to collect, save, and redeem those stamps! Here is the journaling:
Mama saved stamps! Green stamps,
Red stamps, Gold stamps, it didn’t
matter! We had a whole drawer
full of stamps and filled books
of stamps. She'd shop on double
or triple stamp day to make the
most of her purchase!
I remember seeing her pour over
the catalogs of things she could
redeem with her precious stamps.
She could find just about anything
in those magical catalogs!
Pasting day went like this. First
we’d separate all the different
kinds of stamps and put them in
their pile. We’d use a wet sponge
on the backs of the stamps and
we’d work on one of the colors
until we ran out of stamps all our
available books were filled with
the colorful stamps!
Redemption day was always the most
fun though! We’d all go to the
store and proudly put our filled
booklets on the table and tell the
sales person what we wanted with
our purchase! It was like getting
something for FREE!

It's fun remembering things from my childhood! I had a wonderful mother that did her best to provide things for my sister and I. My father was self-employed in a pretty seasonal profession, so she had to really scrimp and save to make it through the lean times! I appreciate her frugal spirit, and am happy to know I come from practical stock! I pray my children and my grand children can learn from these experiences!

I'm so excited about the kit I have to share today! Miss Mis and Modern June did a great collab called Super Pow! It is a really sweet kit, especially if your little one is into super figures! When I first looked at the kit, that was what I saw, but as I opened up the elements, I was struck at just how versatile the kit really is! The alphabets are just great, and I LOVED the cute flowers too!! You can find this exclusively at Scrapable. This is one you aren't going to want to miss!!

Here is the layout I did with this cute kit! It documents my daughter Becky's leap into the business world with the release of her first game! She's made dozens and dozens of super games, but this is the first one that has been picked up and published!! You can find Knock Your Blocks Off at Amazon and other fine retailers! You go girl!!

I missed posting about a new kit from Sugar Pie Scraps. It was actually released in late September! Better late than never though right? The kit is so cute--I love the rich colors and wonderful elements! It has lots of cute stars, and stacked stars too! The bundle has stacked papers and beautiful clustered frames! I love the word art! The alphabet is also fun, and I'm sure I'll use it over and over again!

I've been having so much fun this month!! I'm one of the lucky guest CT members for Connie Prince for September. Her team is one of those teams that you put in the "dream team" category. I've been one of her biggest fans since I started digi scrapping. She uses wonderful bright colors, and always gives an abundance of great elements with each kit, and her templates are wonderful--especially if you are a template freak like I am!! She has her stores at Gingerscraps, at Gotta Pixel, and the Scrapbook-Bytes Store. All the kits I've used can be found at all three stores!
Here are some of the layouts I've done this month--so far!!

and here are the great kits I've been privileged to use!! Now mind you, these are just the "main" part of the kits! Good morning blog! I have a few things to share this morning!
A few of the designers I CT for have some releases today I'd like to share with you! today.
Miss Miss released a template set called Tilted templates found here:

I used the template package, some overlays, and a collab kit from Miss Mis and Modern June to make this layout about my grandchildren discovering CREATION with a hands on experiment! My daughter teaches the children at home, and this was their lesson on CREATION. She's so very creative!! She knows children learn more with hands on activities than just by reading about things.

I made this layout with it! It was little Sarah last year when she was trying to decide what costume to wear for Halloween. This costume wasn't the winner, but she sure won my heart!!

I did this layout with it. I chronicled our last trip to Colorado last October. When we left home, the leaves were green, and by the time we arrived at my daughters house outside of Denver, the leaves were falling! All in the distance of 1000 miles.

I have one more to share today. No pictures, but I learned this saying from my mother, who was a very wise and lovely lady that loved her family more than anybody ever knew. She remains an inspiration to me, even after being gone for so long. I know, however, someday we'll laugh again when we are together in heaven! Because of Jesus, I have that assurance.

This has been an exciting week for our family! School (Home school) is active in all four of my grown children's homes this week! The last to start has been Adam and Hope. I used the photo that Gina sent to me on Adam's first day of school to make this layout for him. He's such a talented and smart young man, and you can see how handsome he is too!! He takes learning very seriously. Here is his first day of school layout. I guess it's pretty easy to be TEACHER'S PET when your mom is the teacher! :) Love this young man!!

One thing that helps me with the pains of life is my deep faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible, as the Word of God offers a believer so much comfort! Jesus is the answer to the pain in life! I was drawn to this kit as I've been looking for a kit to use on some of my favorite Bible Verses! Therefore, I made this layout:

The verse says: 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into

Happy time at our house! Three of the grandchildren are visiting for a couple of weeks! Things are hoping let me tell you. Grandpa has been feeling a little sick, which is sad because we always look forward to the kids being here--
My scrapping time has been nil since the kids have gotten here, but I have been posting some that I got finished before the kids arrived! Miss Mis recently had a CT call, and I'm excited to say I was chosen for that team! Her new release is just darling. It's called Cook Like a Man and can be found exclusively at Scrapable.

Hello old blog--I've been avoiding you lately! :) I've been getting a lot of spam replies, so didn't give the spammers anything to look at! To the spammers: my remarks are moderated--and won't be published, so you are just wasting your time! :)
Now, back to some fun business!! I HAVE been scrapping a lot. Since it's been so hot here in the desert, there isn't much else to do. We had a great surprise this week! Our grandson who is only five years old and hasn't even started school yet, sent us an email!! It was so sweet, I had to make a layout with the sweet note. The photos are from a year or so ago--because I don't have any recent ones--(HINT HINT AMY!!) I used his email for the the journaling. Thank you Jonah for such a fun email!!
Here is the journaling: Dear Grandpa,
I love you. I hope you feel better. I got to hold a baby kitten. I liked it. It was gray and black and soft. And we got Thomas' friends. This Thomas and friends is so much fun to play with. When you turn the switch on, the Thomas' friends will move on tracks. Would you visit us someday? I love
the marble run. Mom and Dad brought me marble run. I like it so much. I want to see your big trains and the tiny train under your table. And I love you Grandpa and Grandma.

Now, wasn't that the sweetest thing? Gotta say I love that boy!! Now, down to the layout!

This kit is going to go down as one of my all time favorites I'm sure!! It is SO boyish--and since I have some of the cutest and smartest grandsons on this earth, I'm sure I'll use this over and over again! It's called HURRY HOME by Pardon the Mess and can be found here.
I also used a CU template from Trixie Scraps.

Isn't that the cutest kit (and kid) ever?? Again, I gotta just say, I love that boy! He's such a little goofy guy!!

I have another layout I'd like to share today too! It showcases another one of my gorgeous grandsons actually!! This one is Micah. He's very studious, as you can see in the photos!! hehe!! His Mama Becky is schooling at home, and see the intense learning mode he gets into? I did this layout as a challenge actually! When I paper scrapped, I almost always made to page layouts, but since I started doing digi, I usually do one page layouts!! I was challenged to do a two pager, so here it is!! Again, I used a great kit by Pardon the Mess called Super Conductor found here.

My third. layout for the day is also a boy layout. I'm back to another one for Jonah. He's been on a roll lately with things he's doing!! Besides reading, writing us an email, he's also learned to ride his bicycle without the training wheels. When I read on Amy's facebook page that they were all on the way to the park with two trikes, and a 2 wheeler without the training wheels, she also said she was taking the first aid kit!! Silly momma!! Jonah did so well. Scott took movies of him and posted the movie on u-tube for us!! It's hard to be so far away from the kids when they are growing up so fast, but having movies and skype to keep us in touch has been such a blessing!!
Back to the layout!! This one is documenting his reading adventure! :) Here is the journaling on the layout:
Routines made bed time at the Bird house a little easier. The kids knew they could have a snack, get ready for bed, use the bathroom, brush teeth, then they would get a story. They would rush through the first part of the routine so they would finally get to the story. All the boys love their story time with either Mom or Dad!

Because of his love for books, it didn’t really surprise me that Jonah caught on to reading so easily!! First he learned the sounds, and before long he was sounding out the words.

He’s quite proud of himself now! He can read a book to himself or one of his brothers all by himself! Praise God for teachers, and for little boys who want to learn! What a special blessing you are Jonah!

I'm BACK with a couple of layouts to share today! Both layouts were with new releases from Pardon the Mess at Scrapable.co. For the first layout I used new release named Frozen in Time and a CU template from LorieM for this layout of Abby playing in the snow! This was such a special time for us, as grandparents!! Coming from the desert, playing in the snow in Colorado was certainly a change for us, and to be able to do it with your grandchildren was priceless!

I used That Summer for this layout of my four beautiful granddaughters! Blue and yellow are one of my favorite color combinations, so you could say I love this kit! I love these girls too!! Aren't they adorable? Oh, I also used a great template from Connie Prince for this layout.

I loved the elements in this kit, and the great alphabet! I really love alphabets, but I usually forget to use them. I couldn't pass this one up!

The first layout is one of Abby. I've scrapped this particular photo before but the new kit was so perfect for this photo I had to do it again! The kit's name is Super Conductor. I also used a template from Connie Prince!

The next layout was made with the Raining Sunshine kit. The photos were taken on a trip to Sea World on a rainy day! The kids didn't let a little rain dampen their trip and their visit with their cousins! I used a template from Connie Prince for this one too! Wow, lots has been happening with my Creative Teams! I have been a CT member at Scrapable.com for quite some time, but they have decided to "go exclusive" with their designers and their CT members! I wish them all the luck in the world with their decision, of course, but I'm going to miss the team! I had other obligations to other designers that I felt was important to fulfill, so with a heavy heart, I left the team.
The good news is, several new designers have joined the team there, and two of them have picked me up for their personal teams--plus I'll stay on with Modern June too. I've been an "on call" person for Alison, designer of Milly Dee Designs for some time now, so it was good to join her team full time, and another designer, Sara Brooks--designer of Pardon the Mess also added to her creative team and picked up a few of the former Scrapable CT members, so I'll be helping her out too!
I've already started with both designers, and have a few layouts from Pardon the Mess to share today! Those of you who know me, know that PARDON THE MESS is just a team I SHOULD be on just because of it's name!! Sarah is a talented designer, and her kits are chock full of fun and imagination. I also love her use of color!
I did two layouts with the kit called Sticks and Stones. It is a fun kit, with cute dinosaur embellishments. I really wanted to use them, so I had to put my thinking cap on!! Brian had just taken Micah to the Bronco Stadium in Denver for the Kids Day festivities, and he sent me some of the photos. They were in the right color scheme, so I used those! First off, here's the kit:

Aren't those Dinosaurs just the cutest? I was so happy to get these photos from Brian! I love seeing the kids activities! Living so far away from them we don't get to take part in a lot of their lives, but photos make that distance much easier to live with!! Thank you Brian!!

The other kit I used from Pardon the Mess is called Dixieland Delight. It was fun to use, as we have three Family July birthday's coming up!! Megan's birthday is on the 4th, and Hannah's is on the 5th!
Scott's birthday is also in July, but I only used the girls in this layout! (sorry Scott!). Maybe if Scott is good he'll get a layout this year too. (just kidding about the "being good" part! Scott is a great guy!)

Hello again! The weather has been so nice and cool here in the desert, that we've been outside a bit enjoying it before our summer heat sets in!! Our yard is beautiful this time of the year--the poppies are still blooming out there, and we have some snap dragons also! My husband gave me a new plant this year--a climbing plant for a big outside bird cage we picked up on one of our trips to San Diego! The plant Thunbergia, and I think I'm going to love it!! It has yellow flowers with a black middle. It's quite attractive, and should fill that bird cage nicely when it gets going!
I've also been keeping up with my scrapbook creative teams. I love scrapping! I scrap in the evenings when we are watching TV. I almost can't sit still to just watch tv without something else to do, so the scrapping is a nice filler!!
This week I made a layout about my daughter Becky. She's such a good mom. She started out reading to the kids when they were very tiny and now they are all very good readers!! That extra time spent together cuddling in a chair with an opened book has really paid off!! And of course being the recipient of all those cuddles was fun too!
So here is a layout with a photo from a few years ago. I used a kit called Mommy Dearest from Aprilisa which can be found at Digital Scrap Cafe. I'm sure I used a template too, but forgot to write that down! (sorry!)

Hi again! I have a few things to share with you today. I've been busy again creating some layouts for my family. I've really enjoyed working with some of the older family photos this past month too. That is something I've wanted to do for quite some time! One of the layouts I did with the older photos is this one:

Here Amy and Scott go again! They are packing up for the 7th time in the 9 years of their marriage! This time they are moving to the suburbs of Kansas City, Kansas. Scott's new job will be as one of the three pastors at an up and coming church in Olathe, Kansas. Amy is busily packing the boxes, but she's going to have to watch out, because Jacob likes to crawl IN the box and play with the things Amy is trying to pack! Silly Jacob.
The first layout I have to share today is a layout of Jonah out on a hike with his daddy! I used Day at the Zoo kit from Dutsji Designs for this layout. You can find the kit here: Digital Scrap Cafe.

The next layout I have to share today is also of the Bird Boys! This time, it is ALL the Bird Boys. In Tennessee by where they live, there is a lake that has started flooding. They visited lately, and of course, a lake is just what the boys needed as an excuse to get wet! The funny part is, DADDY got in there with them! Looks like they had a great time together. Making memories.

Here I am! Ready to blog. I've been pretty busy, and I love it! It's been keeping my mind off my daughters family that lives in Tennessee. They've had some pretty bad weather there over the past week or so, and I'm trying not to worry! I know God is in control, I just like to hear that my kids and grandchildren are safe. Praise be to God, they ARE safe!

I have a few layouts to share this evening. The first one is a remembrance of my maternal grandmother--Grandma Pettibone. She died when I was about 10 years old, but I still remember all the fun I had with her. She taught me how to play poker when I was 3 or 4 years old. She thought she was teaching me rummy! My mother about had a heart attack when she saw her little kid playing poker with her mom!
The first place I remember my grandmother living was in a fancy house. I didn't realize she lived in "the maids quarters." She wasn't the maid--she just rented the little efficiency apartment from the owners of the house! I think she was the happiest when she lived there. Anyhow, here is my layout--it talks about picking strawberries with Grandma.

I am thankful for that wonderful relationship I had with my grandma.

It is SPRINGTIME in the desert! The flowers blooming, and we've had some glorious days. I'm trying to spend some time outside each day because the day will come very soon when it will be too hot to be outside!! We'll turn on the cooler, and pretty much hibernate until fall comes! Our outings will be in the early morning before it gets hot, or way after the sun goes down, after it cools down a bit! The summer winds will blow and everybody will complain about the heat and the wind, but I've come to enjoy the wind. I always tell my friend that the wind is our friend! Without the wind, the heat would be unbearable at times!!
Easter is this Sunday. Our church is having a church-wide breakfast before service on Sunday. Earl has been practicing the music for a month or so! I wish you all a great Resurrection Day. Praise the Lord for all He has done for us.
I have a few layouts to share today while I'm here. The first is Cheesy smile! The photo is of my sweet grandson Noah. This is his Picture Smile. I'm not sure who ever made up picture smiles, but
his is pretty cheesy!! I used a kit called Happy Easter by Algena that you can find at Scrappity Doo Dah!

The next layout is of another grandson named Jonah! His mom started preschool at home with him last September, and he's learned so much! He really enjoys the messy part--just like a boy huh? This photo was taken the first week of school when they were studying the letter "A" and he was using his hand to paint an apple tree. This A week was full of ADVENTURES. They ATE APPLES, made APPLE sauce, and had lots of fun!! They even watched the movie Johnny APPLESEED! Jonah has made AMAZING progress since September, and he eagerly awaits each weeks additions!

I used Polkadot Pixels kit Penmanship and her Grungy Grocery Bag kits that you can find at twopeasinabucket.com! And another kit you can find at 2 peas is Lil' Moa's Diary by Edeline Marta, and that is the kit I used for this layout of still ANOTHER grandson, Micah when he was a few years younger than he is now!

I love the new collab by Marshmella Designs and HK Designs called Hello Sunshine! It's a wonderful kit, and I'm sure I'll use it over and over again. Although you can buy the kit separate from the bundle, the bundle gives you everything including the templates! It's great! And the colors are so sweet. You can find this at Godigitalscrapbooking.com and at Gingerscraps.net. This is my daughter and her three little guys!

The last layout for today is of my middle daughter's family. She has two daughters and a son. The name of this layout is Then There Was Three. I used the great kit Deep Love the bundle by Snap Wings found at Digital Scrap Cafe. I looked for photos that were of the children at about the same age. I made a template for this layout, and it is featured for the Template Challenge at Digital Scrap Cafe starting on April 22! Don't forget to stop by and participate. It's been awhile! :) But I've been pretty busy!

When we retired, I had no idea how busy retired life could be--and it's not doing something all the time, it's just living day to day. The regular activities (cleaning house, doing laundry, fixing meals) take a lot of time! And my house isn't spotless to say the least!! I just don't know how in the world we ever found time to have a job--either one of us!!
Yesterday my husband was outside painting the patio cover before 8 am!! And that was after we got home from walking the dog. Poor dog would go bananas if we did something BEFORE her walk! She is such a creature of habit. She is such a blessing in our lives though, not sure what we'd do without her!
Anyhow, after he was finished painting, he mowed the lawn, moved mulch from one side of the yard to the other, fixed sprinklers, and by then it was 4 pm!! I was really proud of him though, last time he worked outside all day, he came in at about 6 pm and was so exhausted I had to hand feed him. He doesn't know when to quit. So, yesterday I told him he had to stop by 4 pm, which would give him enough time to get cleaned up before dinner. I was totally surprised, though when he minded and came in at 4:15. He felt much better last night than he had the last time!! It was hot outside--it was our first day over 90 this year. Summer is really creeping up on us.

I've been busy with my CT work. This week has been especially busy for some reason! I'm totally enjoying it, and am getting a lot of scrapping done. I have a few to share today--

Hi! I've been on a roll this week! I really love scrapping when it just falls together so easily! Of course, having such wonderful designers to work with really helps the creative juices flow! I have a few to share--some can't be posted yet because the kits haven't been released!

Hi! I've been feeling so bad with my allergies. It's going to be a long spring as the lilacs haven't even budded yet. The good part of allergies, though, is time INSIDE to scrapbook! I can't seem to go outside much at all as the allergies really get me down. Thankfully, the allergies seem to be letting up a bit!
So, two of the layouts I've gotten done this week are Disney layouts of one of the Birds trips! They had a year pass there, and I have a lot of photos, but haven't done many layouts! Poor Noah was still a little shy when it came to meeting the characters, but Jonah was a bit braver. Jonah especially loved the princesses, as you'll see in the first layout! :) By the time they met the super heros, Noah was feeling a little braver. Here are my two layouts!

I used the fun kit Frou Frou Fairy by Caged Bird Designs for the first layout which is my grandsons meeting the Disneyland princesses. Aren't the boys just adorable? Look at the cute expression on Jonah's face. He looks like the Bird that ate the canary! He's holding hands with the beautiful princess and he can hardly believe it!! The second layout demanded a bit more color and boldness, so I chose a kit called World Of Magic by Catia Cunha that you can find here: World of Magic. I hope to get to some more Disney layouts soon! These were fun to make.

Hi! Happy Sunday! I'm suffering with Spring allergies--but since I can't go outside, I've been busy scrapping. I'm always on the lookout for great beach or water related kits to work with. I recently found a really fun one! It was designed by Dream Big Designs, and the name of it is Submerged! It was just perfect for me to use on some of my San Diego photos, and can't wait to use it for some Sea World photos too. We always have beach photos to use, so this one was a lot of fun.

Today is Wednesday! Half the week is gone already. I'm coming down with a cold--or a sinus infection--or an allergy attack! Whatever it is, I'm NOT feeling well for sure! Earl is working on a computer program to figure out how to play trains with grandchildren in Tennessee while we live in California. He's a genius, so I'm sure he'll think of something! :) We miss our little guys--and grandpa misses playing trains with them.
I have a few layouts to share with you to day. I made a layout of Amy and Becky. The photo was taken in June when Amy and Scott were going through Denver on their way to their new home in Tennessee. The girls (sisters) had lots of fun together, and I'm sure they enjoyed seeing all the kids playing together. Being a mom, I love that my girls can get together once in awhile. I wish it was more often--I'm sure they both miss that closeness they once had. Anyhow, here is the layout. I used a kit called I Am Woman by Mandy King and Marie H, and you can find it at Scrappity-doo-dah!

Almost all the other layouts I've done since my last post, I can't post yet--but there is one more I can post! It's about my granddaughters in San Diego. The kit I used was called Any Other Place in the Sun from Dani Salles that you can find at at DigitalScrapCafe. The name of the layout is It's NOT Hawaii--and chronicles our trip to the beach when we visited San Diego! These girls love to visit the beach!

Hello Blog! How are ya doing? Anything happening here??
I've got a few layouts to share this evening!
The first one is one I made with a kit from Modern June called Vintage Flea. When she posted the sneak peek we (the creative team) wasn't sure if it was going to be a vintage kit, or a circus kit, or a bug kit! But it's a GREAT kit! I love it. I made this layout of me when I was a little girl (Kindergarten photo). My mom had given me my first permanent. She loved it and told me how beautiful I was, but LOOK AT THAT PHOTO!! I think she was lying to me so I wouldn't get mad at her for giving me the permanent!! My sister laughed and laughed. She didn't "need" permanents because she had the natural wave in her hair! She still has that wave. Anyhow, you can find the kit exclusively at Scrapable.co

The next layout I have to share was made with another kit at Scrapable! It is from the March Build a kit--another winner in my eyes!! It's called Off the Beaten Path--and you can get it for free with a 10.00 purchase! You won't be sorry! It's fun! This layout is of Noah and Jonah, and how Jonah helps her little brother out! :)

I used a kit from Aprilisa and also a template from her! The kit is called Colors of Love and the template pack is called Picture Perfect #3. The layout is about my granddaughers that live in the San Diego area! They LOVE to visit the beach! --no matter what or when.

and here is another layout---I used a great set of kits from Simply you simply me (the elements, the papers and the word art are all separate kits but called xoxo. I love the cute elements in this kit! I also used a template from Connie Prince. Love her templates too!

My last layout share for tonight is from a kit from Double Dutch Designs called Circle Crazy and a template from ME! :) This is Noah again--He's such a sweetie!

Today is the 10th anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's death at the Daytona 500. His son is driving in today's race. I pray for a safe race for all of the racers today! Let the season begin. I'm multi-tasking--watching the race and digi scrapping at the same time. Such fun!
So far, I only finished one layout--but I love it.
I loved this Cute Safari Collection by Elker W. It was perfect for my photo of my little grandson when we took him to the zoo a few years ago. He was so eager to see the animals, and he KNEW he was safe while he was holding his grandpa's hand. What a testament to trust in his grandpa! What a sweet boy he was (and still is!) Now he's a BIG boy though!

This has been a pretty productive week full of scrapping. I love it!! The designers I play for have outdone themselves with the wonderful kits they've designed. First off, I made two layout with a kit from Kathy Winters called Funky Valentine. For one of them I used a template from PhotoCowGirl! I think I rearranged a template from biographitti for the other one. You can find both Kathy Winters and Photocowgirl at Gingerscraps. Here are those two layouts!

Next is a layout I did with a fun kit from Modern June called February Capture 365. She's doing a new part of this huge kit every month throughout the year, especially for the people involved in doing the project 365. It is probably a daunting task!! But Kathy is up to it--she's fabulous!! You can find Modern June exclusively at Scrapable.co. I also used a template from Colies Corner. I love templates! These are older photos of Abby, but she's still a sweetie!!

Jen C Designs released a cute kit this week too! It is called I love you Just a Little! The bundle even comes with the great templates--and you all know how much I love templates!! This layout is about Abby too. I guess I must be missing her this week!! You can find Jen's things at Funkyplayground and at Digiscrapsdrivein!

The next two layouts were done with a kit from Ruby Lane called In My heart that is available at Funkyplayground! The first one is my granddaughter Hope and the other one is my daughter Becky and her baby Sarah. Sarah is four years old now!! My, how time flies!

Polka Dot Pixels released a perfect kit for BOYS this week! It was called About a boy, and fit my little guys to a "T" so I made a few layouts of their photos! You can find Polka Dot Pixels exclusively at 2 peas! I love this kit!! Look how cute my boys are!! (They are two of my grandsons!) They can be found exclusively in Tennessee!

I did a couple more layouts of Noah--the first one is from a kit called Find Joy from Dianne Rigdon exclusively at 2 peas.

The other one is from Sugar Pie Scraps called My sugar Pie! Noah was a little younger here! He is such a little doll!

This one is all three boys, and I used the new kit from Caged Bird Designs called Anchor Me Down for this one! I love the colors in this kit! I also used a great template from Jen Maddocks Designs and it is featured in the Mystery Challenge at Scrapable.com this month! Come on over and play!

The next one was fun! The photos were taken on my Birthday this year. My son's family came over to help celebrate with me, and it was so fun to see my son and his kids interact with each other. In this layout, Adam is the horsie for Hope, but Andrew was trying to get on too. Chuck was trying to keep the kids from falling off Adam's back! After Adam collapsed, both the little ones got on Chuck's back for awhile too. I used a great kit called My Everyday by Le Pingouin Designs, and it can be found at DigitalScrapCafe.com

A post by Stef at DST challenged us to make a layout without any photos this week, so I made one about my memories from Valentines day when I was a child. I used the Vintage Valentine kit from Digital Scrap Cafe for the kit, and had a great time remembering past Valentines days. I love how it turned out, and proved to myself that the memories speak louder than photos sometimes. Here is my layout!

Polka Dot Pixels released a great new kit this week called About a Boy. Well, since I DO have little boys in my life, this kit was a dream to use! I loved all the cute elements and the great boy colors! I did these two layouts with that kit! Don't I have the cutest little grandsons?

The picture of Jonah was taken a couple of years ago, but he still enjoys helping his father with any chore!! He's FIVE now ya know!! :) Speaking of him being five, I did a layout of that this week too! I love how it turned out. That photo really captured Jonah to a T! He's such a vibrant little guy!!

Because he turned five this week, I was looking back at some of his baby photos, and had to make a layout of when he was a baby--just to see how much he is growing up! He was a beautiful baby, but he's growing up to be a fine little man now!! Here is his baby photo layout.

I made this sweet kit about Molly with the kit. I told the story of how Molly came to be our special friend! Dogs can be such great companions, but they deserve a home to call their own, and a family to love and care for them. If you can be a forever and ever home for a fur friend, don't forget that your local pound has many lovely dogs up for adoption! The fee is usually minimal, and they come with all their shots up to date. They will be spayed or neutered, and ours even came with a microchip just in case they get lost! The love and companionship you get from a fur friend is well worth the initial investment!

Hello Blog! Surprise! I have another post. I'm reliving fun snow storms from the past. The one I scrapped today was in December 2008. Chuck and Gina had left the valley to meet with Andrew's birth mother while the baby was born! They got stuck out of town because ANY snowfall closes our roads. Thankfully, I was able to spend the time with Hannah, Adam, and Hope! Hannah took good care of us, and Adam made sure the wood fire was keeping us warm, and Hope had fun in the snow! We all had a good time together.

I made the layout with the January Collab from Digital Scrap Cafe. I wasn't expecting so much fun when I unzipped the kit though! The preview didn't show as much as what was in the kit at all. I was SO pleasantly surprised. It's a beautiful kit! Here is the layout I did. I also used a freebie blog template from Irene.

I guess it would be good to post my project 52 layouts here too. I may not make it through the year with "my goings on" which will seem pretty boring to many I'm sure!! (probably to me too!) We live a pretty laid back life!! Being retired is great!

Anyhow I'm doing my Project 52 a bit different than most people. I'm only going to take ONE day a week and do a layout of the most stand out thing that happened that whole week-It may be one photo, it may be more! that is IF I happen to remember to take photos at all!!

I DID do layouts of the first two weeks already, so two down, and 50 to go!! Yeah! I'm on a roll!!
My first week layout is of our surprise snowfall! It was fun, but it didn't last long! And my 2nd week layout was about Hannah coming over for a day and playing in my scrapbook with me (and her friend Hannah). It was good to share my oodles of supplies, and fun to see their creations! Hi! We started the year out with a "significant snow storm" here in the desert! It was fun! Significant means more than a dusting--we actually received about 4 inches. The good part of living in the desert, though, is the snow is gone in 24 hours! I can love the snow for 24 hours and then the sun is back out, and the temperatures return to "normal" for us--in the 60's. Beautiful!! I took some fun photos, though, while it was here!
The layout I have to share today was made with a kit from Caged Bird Designs called Fun, Fanciful and Bright!
Like all of her kits, this is another really cute one! I love working with them. I told you in the last post that we spent Christmas in San Diego with my daughter's family. Well, these photos are from that trip. We always have a good time when we visit Debbie and the family.

Here I am finally! I have a lot to catch up on--and a lot of posting to do!! Now that the holidays are over, I may have more time to post--maybe!! The holidays are always such a busy time for everybody. We spent Christmas week in San Diego with one of my daughters. We always have such a good time when we visit family. Before that, we spent some time in Colorado with another daughter!! Being retired, I'm thankful we have time to do some visiting.

This brings me to the layout I want to share today. We have 14 grandchildren! And each and every one of them is so special. I could have used photos of any of them in the layout I'm going to share, and the journaling could have stayed the same. All the grandchildren are precious!

I'll start my post with a layout of my Colorado grandchildren! This is Abby, Sarah, and Micah. I made it with a kit called Woodland Winter by Dream Big Designs. The journaling says The most wonderful time of the year is when we can spend time together. It’s so much fun to see your sweet smiling faces and feel the warm hugs you give us! I had lunch today with my church ladies. They all have prayer concerns for family and loved ones! The world is full of hurt and pain, and we praise the Lord for the strength He gives to each of us to handle the things He feels we are strong enough to handle. These ladies are so special--every single one of them. I love them so! I pray for their hurts, their disappointments, and for their health.

This time of the year is SO busy for everybody!! I just checked on a package I ordered on Cyber Monday and it's ON THE TRUCK for delivery today--woot!! Somebody on my list might be happy about that! It's been hard collecting all the gifts in one place. One gift I ordered was delivered to new neighbors 3 doors away--another was found on the front porch at least a day after it was delivered, another one got lost for about a week in Phoenix "on the way" here, but was finally delivered yesterday! I ordered some and had them delivered to where they are supposed to go--and a few of them are still not delivered. I think it's funny how when you order from Amazon, and get free shipping--and then everything is sent separately! You'd think since they are paying for shipping that they would combine some of them!

Well, enough of that! On to things that are more fun--like sharing some scrapbook pages! I do have lots to share, but again, not much time, so will probably only have time for a few! I love this new kit by Dream Big Designs called My Kinda Christmas! I've done several layouts with it already, but can't share them all here right now. The one I can share, I love! It's actually a lift from a lady emi at one of the forums I'm associated with!

Isn't that just the saddest little face you ever did see? Poor Jacob. Most of the time he is such a sweet natured little guy! I guess his mommy must have been where he couldn't see her!! He DOES like her to be around. I'm sure Santa won't take this momentary lapse of "goodness" to influence him at all!! I'm positive Santa has him on the "good" list this year!! Such a special little guy.

I used ScrapElfs new kit called Jolly Christmas for this layout! I love Sarah's expression here. She was showing us a beautiful rock she found in the yard! And look how cute Abby and Micah are also. These photos were taken at our house in 2008--just about this time of the month. Chuck and Gina were out of town to make arrangements to adopt Andrew, and I was taking care of the other kids at Chuck's house. Grandpa couldn't come and be with us because he was expecting some presents to be delivered! So he stayed home with Molly, and had fun in the snow without me! And I had fun in the snow with the kids:

For these layouts, I used a kit from Marshmella Designs called Holly Jolly. It has a LOT of elements--my kinda kit!! Isn't that snowman the cutest?? Another fun kit is the December Collab kit at Godigitalscrapbooking.com. It's called White Christmas, and again, has oodles of great elements!!
I did these layouts with that great kit!

And another couple of kits I played with this week were a template set from PhotoCowGirl called Like em Big 2, and a wonderful Christmas kit and word art from Kathy Winters called Christmas Jingle, and Dear Santa word art kit! I made this layout with that combination! Sarah was such a beautiful little one!!

I had such a nice surprise yesterday. I have a friend that deserted California many years ago, but was in my city briefly for a family affair, and she called me out of the blue! She asked if I'd be home for awhile, and I of course said YES, definitely! She came over and we had such a great visit. It was like we've seen each other every day for the past 15 years!! We picked up where we left off, and I remember why I love her so much.

I've been busy working on fall and winter layouts lately. They are always so much fun. I have enough photos to last me a lifetime, but sometimes I use photos over again--and sometimes even AGAIN! I have my favorites I guess. My children are such great photographers that I hate to just use the photos once. So it's THEIR fault!!

The first couple of layouts I have to share were made with new kits from Modern June (You can find them at Scrapable.co). One kit is called Seaside Santa, and the other is called Hung with Care. Both are really fun kits to use. I used a Ramona the Pest template for the second layout, and an unknown template for the first one.

Another layout I have to share today was made with a kit called White Christmas which is the December collab kit available at GoDigitalScrapbooking.com. (The fun part of this kit is, it's FREE with a 10.00 purchase!) I love this series of photos that Becky took in 2007. The kids were so much fun that day. What a fun memory. Besides the White Christmas kit, I also used a freebie Challenge template for this layout.

And the last layout I have for today, I made with the October Collab available at DigitalScrapCafe.com. It is called Falling for You! I also used a Tiffany Tillman template with this layout.

I have several layouts to share today! The pictures for the 2009 layout were taken at Amy and Scott's condo in Santa Clarita. I love the photo of Noah looking in the fireplace waiting for Santa! Isn't he so cute?
I used Jen C. Designs new kit It's Christmas Time that you can find at FunkyPlaygrounddesigns this month, as she is guesting there in December!! The other layout I did with this kit is coming up--it is with Sarah sitting in the Christmas box! Why do kids like boxes so much anyhow?? I used templates from Ramona the Pest for both the layouts.

The photos for Another Christmas Story were taken in Denver a few years ago. Look how small Micah is! He's going to be seven very soon. I can't believe how cute he is. He was bundled up so tightly that he couldn't bend his arms--which is why I named it Another Christmas Story! It so reminds me of that Christmas Movie!
I used the fun kit from Ruby Lane called Merry and Bright that is also found at FunkyPlaygroundDesigns! I also used a template from Trixie Scraps for this layout.

There Amy is reading a note from Santa by the Christmas Tree. Unfortunately, while she was reading the note, Molly almost ate the cookies on the plate! If you can't trust your dog, who CAN you trust??
For this layout, I used a completely free kit from Simply Scrappy that can be found at twopeasinabucket! It is called Jingle Jangle! I also used a freebie blog template.

Look at that little pouty face!! Sarah could really pour it on couldn't she?? Every time I see this I think of the Christmas song lyrics "Better not Pout." She didn't seem to know why at this age though! :) I used a new kit by Mandy King called Glad Tidings that is found at ScrappityDooDah, as Mandy is exclusive there!

This is the other layout I did with Jen C. Designs! I love it when the kids like the boxes things come in!! Just goes to show you that a lot of expensive toys and things aren't really needed! Kids find joy in the simplest things.

This is another layout that I used Ruby Lane's Merry and Bright kit. I love the great colors and the nicely designed elements in the kit. The little snowman is so much fun, and her snowflakes are really nice!! I could scrap these photos of Abby again and again as I love them so much!! She is such a sweetie!!

The last layout I have to share today is one about our Christmas tree!
We love assembling our tree, but it's our special ornaments we've used over the years, and the special things we put under our tree that makes it almost magical in our living room.

I always get the itch to put the tree up before Earl does. I'd like it up before Thanksgiving, but he likes to wait until the day after Thanksgiving. I give him grief about that every year, but he always wins. I'd think it would be him that would want to get it up and cleaned up in here since he then gets to "play" with all of the trains he sets up under the tree.

Thanksgiving weekend! I can't believe it's almost December. We spent Thanksgiving with good friends and neighbors. She's a great cook, so we had PLENTY to eat!! She even fixed us a plate of leftovers for the next day.
Last weekend (Saturday) we attended a train show in Pasadena--an annual event that Earl looks forward to each year. We returned home around 5 pm, and Earl went to our neighbors house to get Molly. On his way home with her, a dog from across the street attacked her and put three punctures in her back. I called the vet, but of course, he was gone for the weekend!! I cleaned up the bites as best as I could with antibacterial wash, then put some Neomiacin ointment on the three bites. She seemed fine.
I figured by Monday when the vet opened, it was too late for stitches, so set out to watch for signs of infection. On Wednesday she didn't want to eat--BING--take her to the vet!! This dog ALWAYS wants to eat! So we went in early. The vet took one look at the bites and said they needed to be stitched up--even at this late date because they were still open, and oozing!! So, Molly got to say there and take a little drug induced nap while the vet stitched up her bites. We picked her up around 4:00 pm, and boy was she glad to get home. She's now on antibiotics for a week!! She HAS learned to milk the situation though. She's got these sad looking little eyes. This is Friday now, and this evening was the first time she's been excited about dinner time!! So, I think she's on the mend now.

These photos were taken the year grandpa and I were there for Christmas. We so enjoyed our time with Abby, Micah and Sarah. (And Becky and Brian of course!) I loved the snow for Christmas. It was like an extra little present! And speaking of presents, there were at least a gazillion!! It took almost a week of working on them to get them all opened. (not kidding!)

These photos were taken two years ago today! Amy and Scott had been here for Thanksgiving, so they stayed to have the boys help grandpa and grandma assemble the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving (our tradition). They had fun putting all the ornaments on the same branch, and making our tree so beautiful! We really missed their help today! Grandpa and Grandma didn't even FINISH the tree because we got too tired! Oh well, there is always tomorrow huh?? :)

Hi Dear Old Blog! I've been Missing In Action for a bit! We spent a month in Colorado visiting family, and since we've been home, I've been fighting a cold--and at times didn't think I'd ever shake it, but I think it is finally loosening it's grip on me!! I have so many layouts in arrears I may never catch up!!

First off, we had a great time in Colorado. We spent it at my daughter Becky's home with her husband and three little ones that aren't quite as little as they used to be!! Sarah turned 4 when we were there, so we celebrated that momentous occasion with her. Besides her birthday celebration, we also celebrated Brian's birthday. We sent Brian and Becky off for a couple of days and Grandpa and I held down the fort while they enjoyed a few nights on the town in Denver! They saw some shows, ate out, and caught up on some rest while they were away. Grandpa and I helped the kids with school, went on walks, and played games at home!

When we were getting packed up to come home Sarah told us she was going to miss Molly when we left. Molly made a hit with Sarah AND Micah. (Abby was busy with school so didn't get to play as much!) To tell you the truth, Molly misses them too. She doesn't have three little ones to throw the ball for her all day! They kept her busy, and tired out!! Abby loved taking Molly for walks on the chain when she wasn't busy with school. Molly has been resting now for the last two weeks. When she hears us on Skype with the kids she gets all excited and goes and gets her ball, and barks, wanting to play with them. She doesn't care that it's AMY's kids or Becky's kids we're chatting with! Amy's boys always kept Molly busy with the ball when they were here too! She really misses all of them!!

I'll just share a few layouts today and try to get back to blogging more regularly!

Good morning! I have been having lots of fun with some of my grandchildren. We've made lots of banana nut bread, and gone on many a walks looking for wonderful fall leaves, and played lots of new games! I've read the same book over and over, put the same puzzle together over and over, and listened to the same hummed songs over and over!! But, know what? I'm so enjoying every second with the kids. They are so special!!

Hi! I've been out of action for a bit! I have some layouts to catch up on, but only time for one before church this morning. I had this cute photo of Sarah, and when I saw the sweet elements in this kit, I knew the mix was what I was looking for! I love this layout, and of course Sarah too!! :) She has grown so much. We just celebrated her 4th birthday about 2 weeks ago in fact. She is still as precious as she was when this photo was taken, but oh so much her own little person.

Hi! I've been BUSY!! I have a few things to share today--I'm a little behind on my postings.

First off, did you see that C.W. Picket is guesting this
month at Scrapable? She took her cute Camp Out kit there with her--you can find it here: Camp Out

I made a couple of layouts with this kit that I love! Scrapping is so much fun because it allows you to relive fun times from the past! Sometimes that "past" is yesterday, and sometimes it goes back a lot further. I use scrapping to stay close to the grandchildren. I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, but I have boxes and boxes full of photos (and a few hard drives too!). So when I go back through the photos to decide what to scrap, those precious memories of our time together come flooding back to me. I love that! These particular photos are from a camp trip we shared with the the Thompson grandchildren in 2004, and the second layout was from photos we took in San Diego when we visited in April. What fun with these precious girls!!

Another kit I've used in the last week or so is called Autumn Melody from Mandy King. You can find that kit here: Autumn Melody. I made this layout of Micah and I with it. I loved that trip to the Pumpkin Patch! It was so much fun. Fall offers so many opportunities to have fun in the beautiful outdoors that God gave to us!! Thank you God for memories and for a beautiful world to live in!
Kerry Stewart also released a kit today called Perfect Pumpkin that brought back memories of Colorado and helping Micah and Abby pick out their perfect pumpkin a "few" years ago! More precious memories. The kit can be found at 2 peas in a bucket, and is called Perfect Pumpkin, which is the name of the layout too! It fit!

I also used a template from Photocowgirl on this one!! She's guesting this month at EES. Be sure to check out her great template pack when it gets loaded there!

I have a few layouts to share this evening. Most of the things I've been working on are for kits that aren't out yet, so those will have to wait though!! But I do have a few to share.

Graham Like the Cracker released a cute new kit this week called Cherry Tree Lane! It's a collab with Whimpychompers, and it was inspired by Mary Poppins! It has such cute elements in it!! You can find the kit here: Cherry Tree Lane. Jen says Mary Poppins was one of her favorite movies, and she still loves to watch it. I made this layout about Jonah playing in the rain with it! Amy took the cute photos when they were up in the mountains last December.

Then Wyld Web Designs has been designing again, (and we're very happy about that!) She created this really cute kit called Funky Monkey. Guess who I used in THIS layout with little Monkeys?? They really fit his personality well!! You can find this kit here: Funky Monkey. Jonah is very athletic! You can see the determination on his sweet face when he was playing baseball with his daddy!! Scott loves to spend special time with the boys and teach them the ropes of being a little boy!!

Next on my list are two layouts I did with a kit from Jumping Jelly Beans called Key Lime Pie! Again, I used pictures of Jonah on both of them! He's such an expressive little boy!! :) You can find the kit here:

I've been busy scrapping! I only have TWO layouts to share today, but tomorrow I'll have a lot more--Tomorrow is release day for a few of my designers! One of the layouts I'm sharing today is of my granddaughter's birthday party. She just turned 5, and she's adorable (of course!) She gave her mom strict instructions about her party. She wanted Chicken on the bone (chicken legs) and a two tiered cake! Gina, of course, obliged! The cake was adorable! She had little pet pals on the top for decorations. Hopie loved it!!

This layout shows some of the fun my granddaughters have at the beach! They live in the San Diego area, and visit the beach weekly! The weather here in the Southern California desert is just glorious!! It is cool and a little windy! Earl has been working on the car all day. (Our GOOD car.) I should explain, our GOOD car is a 1994 GMC Jimmy! It has almost 100,000 miles on it. Our other car is a 1991 Chevy Metro that has almost 200,000 miles on it!! THAT is the car we drive all the time around town. He used it for many years as his car-pool car. It is his baby. He loves that car!! The Jimmy escorts us to church once every 6 months or so, and carries us on vacations, and any other trips we go on. Every once in awhile, like now, it just needs some TLC, and some normal upkeep to keep it running well when we do chose to use the car!!

While he's been working on the car, I've spent the day doing some Creative Team layouts. I can share two of them with you today and one I did yesterday. The rest of them will have to wait until the kit is released! :) If CT work has a downside, it's just that. You can't post the layouts you've labored over until the kit is released! Sometimes by the time the kit hits the market, I forget how excited I was about the kit because I've been working on other ones in the meantime.

I'll start out with the layout I posted yesterday. It was made with a charity kit to benefit a little girl in the Philippines that needs surgery. Mandy King was one of the designers that volunteered to work on this kit! It is called Bella Grace, and can be found here: Bella Grace
The layout is of my granddaughter Sarah. She's such a sweetie!! She'll be four in October. Time flies so fast!!

I used a kit by Pebbles and Ruby Lane called Summers End for the next two layouts. The first one is called Pumpkin Time. You can find this cute kit here: Summer's End. I also used a template by Jen Maddocks! She supplied the template for the Added inspiration challenge at Digiscrapbookmania.com. This is a layout of Abby a few years ago when we visited a pumpkin patch close to where they lived. We stopped in after church that morning and let Abby pick out a pumpkin. Jonah and Noah are the focus of the other layout with this kit. For this one, I used a template from Bella Gypsy. Did I say I love templates??

Today is Labor Day in the states. It's the traditional "end of summer" weekend. Whites go back into the closet until Memorial day, most school children have returned to school already, or will start very soon!! This is the last day for a lot of the outside public pools to be opened, the back to school sales are finished, and we slowly slide into fall activities! Before we know it, in fact, it will be Christmas!! The stores will be stocking for those hurried shopping days. As people get older, the seasons seem to come and go faster than they did when one was young! I haven't even gotten used to writing 2010 on my checks yet, and the year is 2/3 gone already!!

Well, before 2011 gets here, I have a bunch of layouts to share today. I didn't realize I had six of them for this one kit from Modern June and Miss Mis that was released today. It is called Making the Grade, and it's available at Scrapable.com and at digiscrapbookmania.com. It's a "back to school" kit, but oh so very versatile! It has to be one of my all-time favorites because it IS so versatile!

All of my children are home-schoolers. Amy (my baby) just started homeschooling her two older boys for pre-school. She's very motivated, and is trying to make it a fun experience for them by including a lot of art projects, and fun activities. For instance, for the first week, they concentrated on the letter "A" and did a bunch of "Activities" like make APPLESAUCE, they painted big cut out A's with apples, had APPLES for snack time, and watched movies that started with an A also!! "B" week followed with Banana bread, and C week they watched the "Cars" movie--and learned about "coughs" because mom was sick!! This week is D week, and they rescued a DOG named DIXIE from the pound!! What fun huh?? Amy is very creative, and I'm sure this experience will be lots of fun for the boys. The pictures for the layouts I made for their pre-school pages were taken before they actually started school, but the photos were too cute to pass up!!

My daughter Debbie also homeschools, and they have gotten busy for this coming year also. The first day of school, all four of the girls brought apples for the teacher, so that is the name of the layout!! The other layout depicts Debbie watching over while Megan teaches mom some photoshop capabilities!! The girls caught on so quickly with digital scrapbooking!!

Becky also homeschools, but I chose to go back a few years and make a layout about trying to get a good Christmas photo!! I included a lot of the out takes--just for fun! I loved all of the photos, and that Abby is a real crack up!! The longer the session went on, the goofier she became. She's such a sweetie!

The last layout was with photos from Memorial Day weekend this past May. Amy and Scott and the boys were here for our annual Memorial Day 500 Indy race! During some of the commercials, the boys had a pillow fight with grandpa, and I had to get photos of that fun activity!! I'm going to miss them next year--since now they live in Tennessee!! Maybe they will go and watch the Indy 500 in person and we can wave at them in the crowd from our tv set in California!

Two more layouts I have to share were done with another new kit from Jen C Designs called Apple of my Eye. It is available at Digiscrapbookmania.com and at digiscrapdrivein.com. It is another really sweet kit!! I've been blessed to CT for such fun designers!! Jen is not only a good designer, but a real sweetie too!

The first layout was for Emily's birthday that was the last part of August, and the second one is from Noah's birthday in June.

The designers went all out this month and put together a great collab called Summer Lovin that you can find here:
Summer Lovin I used it to make three layouts this week. The colors are fun and summery! The first layout is one of Hopie! She's such a darling little girl!! She's built so dainty, she always reminds me of a little butterfly.

The next layout is of the San Diego girls making Potato Balls last Christmas!! They all share in the work, and enjoy the great meal. Dan and Debbie are quite the cooks! The girls are learning some great recipes!!

The third layout is from when the poppies were blooming this past spring. The little hand is Jacob's! :) He was so sweet!! :) He likes being anyplace where Amy is!! Such a good boy.

I attended a speed scrap this evening at PlainDigitalWrapper, and to get ready for our Pirate Time, we all made pirates for our avatars. I used the above kit to decorate my pirate. :)

So here is Pirate Deanna. The bird is supposed to be under my arm, but this was as close as I could get it!

The Labor Day weekend is upon us! The schools that haven't started already, will be underway in the next week or so. Before we know it, Fall will be here officially. When I was younger, I thought fall arrived when school started. I wasn't too far off the mark because I lived in Michigan then, and summer officially came to an end on Labor Day weekend! I remember white shoes were only worn from Memorial day through Labor Day. Now I just wear whatever I want whenever I want. My poor mother tried so hard.
I have a few layouts to share today!
I love this series of photos we took of our grandson Micah when he was so little! Now he's a big boy of almost 7 years old!! He loved the Engineer hats!! and he still does.

Next comes my layout about CHOCOLATE!! Earl and I took the boys to the City Park for an Easter Egg hunt. They used those plastic eggs, and when the hunt was finished, we handed them in, and the park workers gave the kids some candy. I think Noah liked the eggs he found and wasn't too happy about trading them in! But he did it anyhow.

Well, my Family Tree Program has the wrong date in it for Emily's Birthday. So, I got it wrong. I had her layout made a few days before her birthday, but sent it to her the day AFTER her birthday! I'm not sure how my program got the wrong date. It surely couldn't have been ME that put the wrong date it could it?? Grandpa tried to convince her that it was easier to change the date of her birthday than to figure out how to change the date on the computer program, but she wouldn't budge!! After several emails back and forth, we decided we love each other anyhow, even if grandma messed up the date!!

Last night my son and his family came over for dinner. We had an enjoyable family time together! I can't believe how much the kids have grown this summer! My grandson is almost as tall as my husband now. The baby will be two in December, and he's running all over the place. Hopie remains petite and as cute as a bug!! She'll be five soon, and thinks she's so big!! And Hannah is getting ready for her senior year of high school to start next week!! They are all so beautiful and sweet!! Poor Andrew, though, looked like he'd been in a fight! Apparently he walked into a swing at Sunday School on Sunday! He has a black eye, and a bumped up head from another mishap!! I remember those days with my own children!! The children want to be independent but it takes bumps and bruises to achieve that at times!! Learning is hard.

I have a few layouts to share today, but I'm going to do it in batches!! I'll start out with a kit from Misty O'Brien. I'm happy to be guesting for her in September. I used a kit called Tweet Tweet (one of my favorites because it has some BIRDS in it!) and a new kit called Little Bits for this layout of my sweet Noah.

Hello! I'm on a roll for posting! I'm happy to report that my daughter's family adopted a pound dog today. It's kind of funny, but before they moved to Tennessee in June, they decided they were going to look for a dog when they got settled. They also decided on the sex of the dog, the breed they wanted, and even the name of the dog! They had heard good things about Boxer dogs. Amy decided she wanted a female since she felt lonely in the household of only boys!! Also, since they were moving to Tennessee, they were going to call her Dixie. I'm not positive how they found her, but they found a 6 month old female boxer mix named Dixie at the pound! Was it meant to be? We'll see!! Scott went out this weekend and bought the collar and feed bowls. When they went to the pound today, Dixie was there. They brought her home. She is now Dixie Bird! Here you go--Meet Dixie! Welcome to the family!

I'm posting four days in a row! Yeah! Today is Sunday. We just came home from church. We serve an AWESOME God! Our current pastor is an "interim" pastor, although they gave him a name of "transitional" pastor. He's currently attending school, but we've been happy to see growth in his faith, in his knowledge base, and especially in his preaching. We have high hopes for a good relationship with this young man. (He isn't "that" young, but almost everybody is younger that we are!) He has a big Picnic on the Ground planned for September 12th, and we're all looking forward to that! It's been a long time since we've done much celebrating together.

So far, I have TWO layouts to share today! and I love them! I made both of them with the brand new kit by Ruby Lane called It's a Buggy World Out There, and a freebie blog template called PC Scalloped Template! Ruby Lane's kit is such a great kit when you have photos of little boys to scrap!! Have you ever seen a little boy without a little buggy somewhere close by? Jonah is notorious for finding "Buggies!" Ever since he's been a tiny little one, he's loved watching them crawl on the sidewalk, or on the brick wall where they used to live. He's a little nature boy. The second layout is some photos that Debbie shared with me from their trip to Sea World in San Diego. Since they live close by, they get to visit Sea World quite often! Especially when they buy an annual pass. Debbie is able to incorporate some of their trips into their home school lessons, so that gets double duty from the passes--fun and education! Can't beat that!

I'll have several layouts ready to post on Wednesday because a couple of the designers I CT for has some kits coming out then!! I'll also be posting a new challenge at digiscrapbookmania.com on Wednesday. It will be the "technique" challenge--which is kind of a strange one for ME to do!! I'm not "technique" driven when it comes to digi. I'm more of a find something you like and then find a way to do it kind of girl. So that, in a nutshell, will be my technique! Have I enticed you to check in and try it yet?? I hope so!! While I can usually find a way to do something I set my mind on, it's a real challenge for me to put it into words and try to walk someone else through that process!! I've found that my head (in logical steps) go faster than my typing fingers want to go!! :) So, go to the forum on Wednesday and see if I can challenge YOU!

I think I'll make another post--just to make "Blogger" think I've been hacked!! Three days in a row!

I still have more layouts to share, so I'll get at it!! The first layout is a one I finished up about a week ago and forgot to post for some reason or another!! It is our silly dog Molly!! She is so spoiled. And we love it that way!! Why have a dog if you don't spoil them?? I used a kit called Toy Chest by Laurie's Scraps that you can find here: Toy Chest. I used a blog freebie template for this one.

The next layout is one from a trip to Morro Bay with Debbie's family. We had such a good time with the girls!! They are certainly sweeties!! We've camped there a LOT over the years. The first time was back in 1971 when we came to California the first time. Chuck and Debbie were just little, and they got SO dirty!! We had to give them a bath in the laundry tubs outside the bathroom doors. We used those same tubs when we took Ashlyn and Megan there the first time too!! (shhh don't tell--they'd be embarrassed!) We always have a good time there, though, even if the kids DO get dirty!! For this layout, I used a kit called Swimming Lessons by Three Hearts Designs. You can find that kit here: Swimming Lessons. The next layout is with a photo of my mom and dad's wedding. We don't have many photos of my father, so I've scrapped this one several times!! My parents were married in 1939 and he died in 1961, so they were married for 22 years. My son and his wife had their 22nd wedding anniversary yesterday. I can't believe they've been married as long as my mom and dad were!! That makes me pretty old too!! The last layout is a layout of my silly Bird Boys!! I thought using the little prisoner on it would make it a Jail Bird layout. :) I miss them since they moved to Tennessee!! Sweet boys!! Two posts in 12 hours!! Probably a record for me!! I have a few more layouts to share today. The first one is from a new kit my Marshmella Designs called Seeds of Tomorrow. This kit is packed with hand drawn elements that you can't get anywhere else!! They were fun to play with for sure!! The papers are full of character also, so this kit was wonderful. For the next layout, I used a cute new kit by Designs by Jodi called Lil Crime Fighters and a template from Photocowgirl. Both kits can be found at Gingerscraps.net. This layout depicts my little JAIL Bird! :)

And for the third layout, I'm guesting for Misty O'Brien for September, so I was able to play with the new kit called Beautiful Dreamer. You can find the kit at FunkyPlaygroundDesigns. This kit was perfect for some photos of Noah when he was tiny!! Now he's such a BIG boy!! Love that kid!

I've been SO neglectful on my blog posts!! I do have lots to share though! It's been a bit oppressive here this week with very high temperatures, and higher than what we like humidity. I've been thankful for an "inside" hobby to stay inside out of the heat!! We can't complain about the summer we've had though! Most of it has been wonderful. I can't remember a cooler summer since we moved here in 1972 in fact. Since we do live in the desert, the hot summers are just one thing we expect! Here is a photo of what our sky looked like this afternoon. It was gorgeous!! We ended up not getting ANY rain or even a drop in the temperature, but it was fun watching the beautiful clouds build over the house!!

Last Friday Hannah and a friend of Hannah's came over and played in my scrapbook room with me. They love making cards with the cricut. Hannah didn't inherit my lame card making gene thank goodness!! Her and her friend together made about 13 cards!! They were all real nice. I was glad to have the excellent company, and also to have someone to share my wealth of paper supplies with! I actually made 4 paper layouts while the girls were here. I had to finish up the journaling and the finishing touches, but it was fun playing with paper again after such a long time. Here are the four layouts I did!

Now on to some of the digital layouts I've done since I posted last! Like I said earlier, it's been HOT here--way up into the triple digits in fact!! When I was looking through some of the photos to scrap, I came across some snowy ones. I thought it might work to make me feel a little cooler!! For the layout Snowballs in the face I used a great kit by Ruby Lane called Playdate! I also used that kit for the The Boys layout. She is going all out, and the boys are going to learn a whole lot!! Amy started preschool with the two older boys today. They skyped us awhile ago and shared some of the activities that they did today. Jonah sang us a song and Noah played a melody (?) on the harmonica for us! They both worked on a big "A" and ate apples for snack! (apples WITH apple dip). This week they are concentrating on "A" with fun Activities!! Amy visited the library and picked up some "A" books for this week too. She's really excited to start this adventure. Thursday the boys will study with the co-op pre-school at their new church. I'll probably be making a layout on their first week at pre-school very soon!

It has been a wonderful summer in the desert this year! We only had ONE really hot week--and wouldn't you know, it was the week the Colorado family were here visiting! We had fun in spite of the heat and humidity. We had another week that we had a lot of smoke from a forest fire not far from here too. It got pretty close to my son's home, but thankfully, the firefighters extinguished it before it got that far! He had a lot of soot and dirt in his pool and around the property, but no other damage, for which we are so Thankful!!

I've been working on Creative Team layouts and having a great time taking an online class with Tiffany Tillman. I'm a little behind, though, and hope to catch up this weekend.

I have a few layouts to share today.

Whoops, my "few" ended up to be ten, and I have more--but I'll save them for the next time!!
For the Beach BBQ layout, I used a new kit called Summer Remnant from Mandy King that you can find at Scrappity Doo Dah. The layouts Beach Girls and Fishing trip came from a kit called Shark Tails from Bean Bunny Designs at Digiscrapbookmania.com. That was quite a fun kit to play with!! I used a fun template from MandyMade on the Fishing trip layout. The BEWARE layout is the cutest little Pirate you ever did see!! These photos were from last Halloween down at Debbie's house. Amy and Scott and the boys were there too, and we all had a great time together. I used a new collab kit by Wyld Web Designs, MandyMade, and Pretty in Green called Say No to Pirates that you can find at Gingerscraps.net. First Eats was made with a kit from Paste Optional called Vegetable Medley that is found at Plaindigitalwrapper.com.

Home school is very important in our lives. All my children with school aged children homeschool. And the one daughter with pre-school children is starting pre-school homeschool this coming week. The kids are looking forward to it--as long as "mommy" stays mommy and doesn't turn into only a "teacher." Noah got a little confused and thought if Amy was his teacher, she wouldn't be Mommy anymore! :) Anyhow, for the homeschool layout, I used a kit called School is Cool from Kathy Winters. The title came from a matching kit of word art--also from Kathy Winters. You can find those kits at Scrappity Doo Dah.

The layouts Jacob and Little came from the same cute kit! I love the banners--even though they are "trendy" and normally trendy isn't my style! I used a kit from Sweet Tomato Designs called Findley that can be found at Polkadotplum.com. The kit is pretty versatile! I also used one of Sweet Tomato Designs templates for the Jacob Layout, and a template from the template challenge for the Little layout.

If Only layout I also used a template. This one was from JennCK. The kit I used for that layout was called Social Butterfly, and it was made by Starving Artist Designs! She's been on a roll this past couple of weeks with the new kits!! Little Boys Yard work was from a kit by Jen Martikas from 2 peas in a bucket. The name of the kit is Woodsy! It was a fun kit, and Jen sent it to me as a "thank you" for guesting for her CT in July. What a sweet gesture!! I love her kits-they are always fun to work with. Thank you Jen!

For the Summer Vacation layout I used a kit called Cora from Pampered Princess at PolkadotPlum.com.
I picked that kit to work with because Cora was my grandmother's name! And it was also a fun kit to play with! It went well for a summery feel to the girls photos!

I've been working hard on CT kits this past two weeks--today a kit by Jen C Designs was released at DigiScrapbookmania called I'm All Boy! and you all know I have a few boys in my life that I love to scrap for, so it was almost like Jen created this kit just for me to play with!! And play I did! It was a really fun kit to play with--great colors and fun embellishments. He wrote the message--and I could even figure out what it said! He said "I love you as high as the sky" and then he drew a bunch of rocket ships complete with fire coming out the back! (to get to the high sky) Well Jonah, Grandma and Grandpa love you too--And we miss you!! (and your brothers of course) Well, come to think of it, we miss Amy and Scott too!!

Today I have some fun news! I've been picked up by two new Creative Teams this past week, and I'm so excited! Also be guesting for another one in September, but I'll tell you about that one later! One of my new teams is with Mandy King, and the other is the Polka Dot Plum site! I've been a "Chatter Dot" for about a month now, so have been looking the site over a bit already. I haven't had the time to work with any of the kits from Polka dot Plum yet. I think they are next on my list. I've been working with Mandy's new kits this week, and I can share them today.

I've always loved this photo of Abby and Horsie. She always thought of Horsie as her "best friend" and I was happy to visit with Horsie when she came to visit us earlier this summer. Abby still loves Horsie! This week Abby is actually taking a class at a park located by them, all about taking care of horses. She told me on the phone how excited she is, and how much she is looking forward to it. Becky has already started school for this coming year, so Abby is going to be one busy girl this week with the horse class, then come home and work on school lessons! We all know, though, that Abby is up to the task!

I've had visitors off and on for awhile now, and have been having a good time with family. I've done a lot of layouts, but probably won't post all of them here. I'd be posting all night if I did! I'll just post the layouts I did this past week or so!
